We are proud to offer safe and affordable spaying and neutering for rabbits both young and old. Our prices are lower than other area full-service veterinarian clinics. Patients will receive a small abdominal tattoo at no charge. This tattooing is the universally accepted method to identify a spayed or neutered animal.
Spay and Neuter Services
- Spay (females)
- Neuter (males)
Pain medications used during surgery as well as three days of take-home pain medication to alleviate any discomfort are included in this surgery price.
Optional Services at Owner’s Request
These services can be provided during surgery, at your request. Please note: these services are not provided separately from surgery.
- Nail Trim – $20
If you struggle to trim your pet’s nails, ask us to help! It’s so easy to perform a close nail trim when your pet is sedated.
- Cardboard Carrier – $12
Pets In Stitches offers cardboard carriers for your use before and after surgery. Being in an enclosed, protected environment helps your rabbit feel safe.
- Microchip from AKC Reunite – $50

Before Your Rabbit’s Surgery
We recommend completing the required admission forms online or bringing them with you so we can process your rabbit’s admission quickly the morning of surgery. These include:
Water and food should be available at all times.
Please bring your rabbit to the clinic in a secure travel cage with food in a container (vegetable, hay and pellets) and a water bottle that may be used to keep your rabbit’s stomach working well at Pets In Stitches.
Postoperative Complications and Emergencies
Pets In Stitches will re-check your rabbit at no charge for any complications resulting directly from surgery. There may be a minimal cost for medications, if needed.
If you have a non-emergency question or concern or would like to have your pet re-checked by one of our veterinarians, call (937) 630-3320 during regular business hours (Monday – Thursday, 7:30 am-5:00 p.m.)
If your rabbit requires care during of Pets In Stitches’ on-call business hours, call our emergency telephone which may be found on your postoperative form. (Monday – Saturday, 7:30 a.m. – 9 p.m.)
If your rabbit requires emergency care for a life-threatening situation that does not fall within Pets In Stitches emergency phone hours, call or visit your regular full-service veterinarian or local emergency veterinary clinic. If you do not have a veterinarian, we suggest the reputable emergency clinics in the Miami Valley area:
In the case of emergency treatment, you are responsible for paying the veterinarian or the emergency veterinary clinic directly. Pets In Stitches will discuss the visit with the emergency veterinarian to determine if the visit was related to the spay or neuter surgery. Pets In Stitches will reimburse the cost of the visit if we determines it was a spay or neuter surgery related visit and that postoperative care instructions were followed.
Don’t just take our word for it…
Our family had a great experience at Pets In Stitches! Our rabbits Dinky and Winky were so well taken care of and I could tell the staff really cared about their well-being. The staff was so attentive to their needs, calling several times to check on them and exhibited a great deal of patience with answering our questions.
When Dinky refused to drink after the surgery, the staff was great about seeing him quickly and attending to his medical needs. They were all so kind to our sweet bunnies!
I would definitely recommend Pets In Stitches to anyone, a 10+ all around!
We chose to have the rabbits neutered at Pets In Stitches because of the price. The estimate given to us was $200 cheaper than other estimates we received!
I was very pleased with everything about Pets In Stitches! From the first time I called, the staff was polite, professional and helpful. All of my questions were quickly answered and I was pleased with their willingness to get me an appointment within a week from when I called!
The staff at Pets In Stitches even called more than once to check in on the rabbits to monitor their recovery!
My husband and I don’t have any more pets, but if we have more in the future, I know where we will be taking them for their spayed/neutered needs!!!
Rabbits are unique animals and are not treated the same as dogs or cats. We take steps to address their special needs before, during, and after surgery…
...and, as always, I am dedicated to providing affordable spay and neuter services in a professional environment.
