Surgery

Payment for services is due prior to surgery. We appreciate cash but accept credit and debit cards. pets In Stitches does not accept personal checks.

Pain medications during surgery are included. Pets In Stitches strongly recommends three days of take-home pain medications at a cost of $15.

All patients with live fleas will be administered a Capstar tablet at a cost of $5.

  • Owners must bring cage, food (vegetables, hay, and pellets), and water bottle
  • Rabbits are NOT fasted before surgery

Elizabethan Collar: $10.00
Licking can cause infection. A collar keeps dog from licking incision during healing process. Pets In Stitches strongly recommend an E-collar for any dogs with a history of licking and all adult males.

Additional fees will be required for non-routine surgical procedures that require more involved surgery, such as:

  • Pregnancy—$40
  • Umbilical Hernia Repair—$40
  • Abdominal Cryptorchid —The cost of the neuter plus up to the full price of a spay.
  • Inguinal Cryptorchid —the cost of the neuter plus $40.
  • Dewclaws on dogs not attached by bone—$20 to $40 per dewclaw depending on complexity
  • Extraction of retained deciduous (baby) incisor teeth—$10 per tooth
  • Extraction of retained deciduous (baby) canine teeth—20 per tooth

All patients will receive an abdominal tattoo at no charge. Tattooing is an effective and universally accepted method to identify a spayed or neutered animal.

Juvenile Spay & Neuter

Pets In Stitches performs juvenile spay and neuter. The benefits of early age spay and neuter are amazing! It is safe and the younger pets recover faster.

Vaccines

Vaccines are only available to patients on the day of their surgery.

RABIES: This vaccine is required per Montgomery county law for dogs and cats twelve (12) weeks or older. If you do not provide a current rabies vaccination certificate, we will administer the rabies vaccine at the time of surgery at your cost.

FELINE VACCINES

Testing services are only available to animals receiving surgery

  • Canine Heartworm Test — $20.00
  • FeLV/FIV test — $30.00

All dogs seven months of age and older must have a heartworm test performed on the day or surgery or within the past six months to purchase heartworm prevention from Pets In Stitches.

Pets in Stitches offers 24PetWatch microchip for permanent identification of your pet. The $20 microchip fee includes microchip registration.

Pets In Stitches believes all pets should receive the highest quality veterinary care possible, even when the services rendered are at a reduced cost. Pets In Stitches’ affordable spay and neuter clinic uses state of the art instruments and equipment. All surgeries are performed by qualified doctors of veterinary medicine. Patients entrusted to Pets In Stitches are attended to before, during, and after surgery by experienced registered veterinary technicians and veterinary assistants. Every patient receives a brief physical exam by our veterinarian and effective pain medication.
