Inflation: We Don’t Like It Either

Rising Tides

Inflation! It’s great when you’re blowing up your favorite float for the pool. Not-so-great when it comes to the cost of goods and services. We don’t like it either, but if we don’t adjust pricing to keep up with the changing prices, we won’t be able to stay in business. Forever in favor of staying transparent, we wanted to explain where these costs come from so you know what all goes into it when you receive the bill at the end. It’s all our attempt in answering the question: How much does a vet visit cost?

Materials & Supplies

Surgical procedures require so many supplies! And these materials are up 23%! Medications to sedate, PPE such as gloves and masks, cleaning supplies to disinfect, syringes to administer medication, and more all stack up. Materials such as vaccinations keep pets in our community healthy and prevent transmission of preventable diseases.

Labor Costs

We employ the cream of the crop. More than advanced technology, top of the line supplies, or pristine clinic—we know our biggest asset are the incredibly skillful and compassionate members of our team. However, to retain the best and brightest, we must offer fair compensation and benefits. It’s necessary to keep our highly trained, efficient, and empathetic staff. Labor costs are up 38%!

But Wait… There’s More!

On top of all of the above, there are details that help keep us running like a well-oiled machine. This bucket includes utilities, professional fees, continuing education, insurance, advertising, repairs, and service contracts. And this cost is up big time, at a whopping 112%!

Same Excellent Care

All of this to say: trust that we’re doing our best to deliver the same thorough, expert, compassionate care you’ve come to expect from us while also trying to weather the storm of inflation. Thanks for choosing us to take exceptional care of your furry family member!
